Apartments and rooms Fattoria Di Maiano

A 300-hectare organic farm in the hills of Fiesole, 5 minutes from the centre of Florence. Old farm buildings and the cloistered monastery have been skilfully converted into rooms and apartments in typical Tuscan style. The swimming pool, botanic garden and grounds with animals, and the restaurant with terrace make the farm the perfect choice for those looking to discover authentic Tuscany. The Fiesole region is a place rich in history, from the Etruscans to great Tuscan names like Leonardo, Pico and Boccaccio. The estate produces certified organic Laudemio extra virgin olive oil using an historic olive press. The 50-hectare botanic garden boasts over 15 km of trails, a romantic nineteenth century park created by Jhon Temple Leader, an educational farm with a huge vegetable garden, an orchard of ancient fruit trees, medicinal herbs and various species of animals. You’ll also find a farm workshop where you can discover the agriculture of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Activities and surrounding Guests can enjoy guided tours of the olive press and tasting, as well as daytime and night time off-roading tours by Land Rover to discover hidden corners of the hills overlooking Florence, and spot foxes, porcupines, roe deer, wild boar and pheasants. On the educational farm, you can follow the signposted trail independently, to see the animals (ducks, geese, goats, ostriches, Amiata donkeys, horses, bunnies, pigs and more), and stroll through the farm’s olive grove, through to the Regina Park with its pretty pond, Laghetto delle Colonne, surrounded by a fairytale wood of cypresses and oaks, dominated by a tower. From here you can continue along other pathways in total tranquillity. Other local attractions include the Tree Experience adventure park, free-riding tracks, a Roman theatre and the Fiesole archaeological area.
